Eight Bristol restaurants shortlisted in national awards

Three new eateries and five established Bristol venues have made the shortlist in the Best Restaurant in Bristol category of the annual British Restaurant Awards.

The newcomers were Indian restaurant Namak in St Werburgh’s, former ramen pop-up Tomo No Ramen in Old Market and vegan falafel place Yafo in Southville. All have been open for less than a year. They join the more established Adelina Yard, Root, Wilsons, Casamia and The Ethicurean at Wrington on the shortlist.

The British Restaurant Awards is an annual awards ceremony where customers get to nominate and vote for their best restaurants, chefs and culinary experiences in the UK. Readers of Chelsea Monthly magazine, The National Post, and members of the World Restaurant Awards Guide ( WRAG) are allowed to nominate their favourites through the UK by city and region.

The restaurants that receive the most nominations are shortlisted and released for the public to vote. The final list of winners will be announced at the annual gala event taking place on 12th September at the Sway in London.

Celebrity chefs including Gordon Ramsay, Jamie Oliver, Levi Roots, Ainsley Harriot, Gino D’Acampo, Aldo Zilli, Heston Blumenthal, Simon Rimmer, and more are all up for the Best Chef 2022 category. Other awards include Best New Restaurant, Best Young Chef, Best Luxury Restaurant, Best Restaurant Chain, Best Takeaway Restaurant, Best Food Ordering Company, Best Culinary Experience, and more. For a full list go to the official website.
