A five-star hotel in Cornwall is celebrating its supernatural connections with a wicked Witches Sleepover during October half term.
The Headland, which overlooks the Atlantic Ocean in Newquay, was the stunning setting for the 1990 film, The Witches, which starred Anjelica Huston and Rowan Atkinson. The atmospheric three-night stay, available during Halloween half term between October 22nd-30th, provides a luxurious insight into the hotel’s relationship with the much-loved comedy horror film.
Hotel Director Veryan Palmer said: “The Witches is close to our hearts here at The Headland and every October we like to celebrate the film with a spooky tribute. The Grand High Witch will be a powerful presence during the Witches Sleepover, interacting with guests while they enjoy a host of themed activities during their stay.”
The three-night package in a hotel room or cottage includes (starting price is £948 for a double room):
Cornish Breakfast on each morning.- A two-course dinner in The Terrace on the day of arrival.
- Wickedly wonderful Witches Afternoon Tea in The Samphire on the second day of your stay. Look out for The Grand High Witch herself.
- The Witches tour with the hotel’s concierge team.
- A screening of The Witches movie in the cinema room.
- Complimentary use of the hotel’s award-winning spa facilities including a pool complete with bubble seats and swan neck jet, hot tub and aromatherapy showers.
- Complimentary access to the new £10 million Aqua Club with six pools and a sun terrace overlooking the Atlantic Ocean
The ever-popular Witches Afternoon Tea will include clotted cream scones, seasonal sandwiches and bewitching sweet treats such as white chocolate mice, pumpkin cheesecake, treacle tart and blackberry and apple trifle.
It is also available to non-residents throughout October, with an especially spooky visit from the Grand High Witch on the first two weekends (1st and 2nd, 8th and 9th) and then every day from October 15-30 inclusive.
It costs £39 per adult and £19.50 for under-12s on the days the Grand High Witch is visiting, or £35 per adult and £17.50 for children when she is causing trouble elsewhere.
