It’s a hat trick for the The Bucket & Spade Café in Shaldon, who won Gold in the Best Café category, and two Silvers in the Best Bar and Best Restaurant categories at the Food Drink Devon Awards this week. With spectacular views across the Jurassic coastline, The Bucket & Spade Café is a popular choice for locals and visitors to the area. It’s renowned for its friendly service, locally sourced food, live music events and most recently, its new ‘Work Club’.
Thrilled with this accolade, Josh Donald, managing director of Coast View Holiday Park commented: “It’s fantastic that we have won these awards again! It’s a difficult time for many businesses with rising costs of living but all of our staff work so hard to deliver a consistently high-quality experience for our customers with a fair priced menu. We’re proud of our Café which has one of the best views in the area!”
Devon’s talented food and drink scene was alive at the 11th Food Drink Devon Awards at the beginning of the month. Over 330 of the county’s finest food and drink producers, hospitality and catering businesses and speciality retailers celebrated in style at the esteemed awards’ ceremony, held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, in Plymouth. The ceremony was hosted by Devon-based comedian, author and food lover, Tony Hawks.
With the winter season approaching and the rising energy costs, The Bucket & Spade has introduced a new ‘Work Club’ for those who would like a break from their usual home office. For a small cost of £6 per day, customers can use the Bucket & Spade’s Wi-Fi, enjoy unlimited tea and coffee and parking is free. It’s a great way to get your people fix for the day and feel part of the local community. Look out for regular special offers on the menu.
Whether with the family, a friend or ‘Work Club’, customers can enjoy popular family favourites at lunch time and in the evening with the focus on locally-sourced produce and many vegan and gluten free options available. Fresh and local fish dishes and West Country beef feature on the menu alongside light bites and healthy salads with their popular traditional Sunday lunch. A wide selection of artisan local beers, wines and spirits are available from the well-stocked bar.
