The Fig Tree @ 36 win Best Restaurant award at Food Drink Devon Awards

As part of the celebrations at Food Drink Devon’s 11th annual awards ceremony held at the Crowne Plaza in Plymouth, The Fig Tree @ 36 won ‘BEST RESTAURANT’.

Judges commented ‘loving the buzzy atmosphere and delicious food in the intimate restaurant’.

Not only that, but they obtained gold within the restaurant category too. Winning overall ‘best restaurant’ as a small family business, they appreciate the acknowledgement from their fellow foodie community.

“When we heard that we won, we were shocked and overwhelmed. We do what we do because we love it, to be recognised for that is astounding. As we know the last few years have been a challenge for us all and for us, winning the award and hearing what our customers had to say on our social media congratulating us, honestly made us feel really humbled. All our time and effort goes into our business, this is our true passion and guess what? People are actually enjoying it too. Now that is something to shout out about. We have the ambition, drive and determination to continue to strive to the best of our abilities. To be accredited by not only Food Drink Devon, but by AA and Michelin as well for 2022. I guess in the foodie world, we are doing something right”.

“Considering we are cooking and serving locally sourced produced and enjoying it along the way is something to be proud of. To help put Plymouth on the map for great food, there are many local eateries in Plymouth that we would encourage to join Food Drink Devon. As a small independent business, it’s a wonderful community to be involved with because it has helped us find and support local, like minded producers and independent businesses. We have supported Food Drink Devon since we opened in 2017 and we won for the first time in 2018. To win this highly respected award again for 2022 – 2023 ‘Best Restaurant’ in Devon makes us feel so very honoured and proud of what our team have achieved over the years.”
