Virgin Atlantic adds Salcombe Gin ‘Rosé Sainte Marie’ to exclusive Upper Class drinks menu

Following phenomenal success and popularity in its onboard Duty Free, Virgin Atlantic has selected luxury Salcombe Gin ‘Rosé Sainte Marie’ to be a part of its pouring service in Upper Class. Lucky guests will be able to enjoy the aptly named ‘Over The Horizon’ cocktail when travelling in Upper Class.

This multi-award winning gin produced by the internationally acclaimed Salcombe Distilling Co. was listed in Duty Free onboard Virgin Atlantic earlier this year. It is also available in Virgin Atlantic Clubhouses in the UK and USA, which are known for their exclusivity and luxurious surroundings. Salcombe Gin ‘Rosé Sainte Marie’ is seeing rapid growth in the USA with listings in Bevmo!, Total Wine and drizly.com, amongst others.

Angus Lugsdin, co-founder of Salcombe Distilling Co. says: “To be selected by Virgin Atlantic to form part of their pouring service in Upper Class reflects the outstanding quality of this gin. A huge amount of care was taken to create an elegant spirit which really stands out in the crowded ‘pink gin’ category, and we are delighted that this has been recognised in such a way.”

Passengers on Virgin Atlantic can also pre-order Duty Free Salcombe Gin ‘Rosé Sainte Marie’ together with Salcombe Gin ‘Start Point’ ahead of their flights.

Inspired by the Mediterranean coast, Salcombe Gin ‘Rosé Sainte Marie’ is bright, fresh and elegant. The award-winning delicate, fresh flavours are reminiscent of Southern France and in turn, emulate qualities of dry rosé wine. This gin sets the president in the flavoured gin market that is typically overcrowded by sugary alternatives.

Salcombe Gin ‘Rosé Sainte Marie’ is purposefully dry and has no added sugar, artificial colours or flavours. The gin pays homage to the Sainte Marie lighthouse in the South of France, which marks where nineteenth century Salcombe Fruit Schooners loaded supplies of citrus fruits and herbs.

Salcombe Gin ‘Rose Sainte Marie’ remains the only dry ‘pink’ gin to have received Double Gold medals at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and the SIP Awards and was Wine Enthusiasts #1 rated gin in 2021.

Distilled with Macedonian juniper berries and teamed with flavours of angelica and strawberries, that attribute to a subtle sweetness, an additional twelve hand-sourced botanicals including orange blossom, rose petals, fresh lemon, orange peel and pink peppercorns are then added to the distillation.
