The Rising Sun in Backwell has thrown open its doors following an extensive refurbishment.
The pub was acquired by Butcombe Pubs & Inns (part of Liberation Group) in May 2022. Pride of place is a new tiled and wooden curved bar. Wooden panelled walls and statement wallpaper in rich deep burgundy, greys and neutrals provide the backdrop for brass feature light fittings, mirrors and artwork. Deep button leather fixed seating, gentleman’s lounge chairs and a range of high and low-level seating create a variety of elegant and cosy drinking and dining areas for guests to enjoy.
Simon Dodd, General Manager, The Rising Sun says: “The pub looks incredible, it’s quite a transformation! We’re looking forward to showing off what we’ve done and to welcoming guests and locals back. The high-end interiors and styling reflect what’s going on in the kitchen and behind the bar – the very best, award-winning food and drink and excellent hospitality. We’re sure our guests are going to love the new look Rising Sun, especially as we head towards Christmas, we’re the perfect venue for festive meals and get-togethers.”
The six newly decorated bedrooms have everything you would expect for a luxurious night’s stay, each with its own distinct style and personality – super comfy beds, glamorous styling and high-end bathrooms with Bramley toiletries.
The pub’s exterior has been refreshed, as has the site’s branding and signage which now features a cockerel crowing to a rising sun.
The newly launched Autumn menu focuses on locally sourced produce, seasonal ingredients and elevated hearty pub classics. The menus and daily specials also feature Butcombe ales where possible – such as Butcombe Gold beer-battered fish and chips. And on Sundays it’s all about the best roast in the area. Behind the bar is a great selection of wine and cocktails, alongside a wide range of craft beer, real ale and cider from Butcombe’s award-winning brewery not far away in Bristol.
