The Nare, the country house hotel by the sea on the Roseland Peninsula, will be serving the best beef in Cornwall on Christmas Day, following its sponsorship of the Champion Beef Prize at the Truro Primestock Show on Wednesday 7 December. The Nare has sponsored the pre-Christmas event for over 20 years.
Recognising the best in class of cattle, sheep, and farm produce, the Truro Primestock Show has brought the countryside and farming into the heart of the city for over 120 years. Prime cattle and sheep are exhibited, judged and then auctioned, alongside a wonderful selection of farm produce and crafts, which this year took place at Truro Christmas Market.
The Champion prize represents the best prime beef animal stock in Cornwall sent to market in time for Christmas and The Nare’s sponsorship reflects the hotel’s dedication to serving the highest quality produce from the Duchy. This year, again, the Champion prime rib will be served for Christmas Day at The Nare, after hotel proprietor Toby Ashworth negotiated the supply from the highest bidding butcher, R.J. Trevarthen of Penryn. For hotel guests, the traditional festive luncheon will offer a selection of Cornwall’s finest produce, with black-tie dining and the splendour of the formal Dining Room creating a truly sumptuous Christmas.
Throughout the rest of the year, The Nare also very much welcomes non-residents for lunches, traditional Sunday lunches from the famous beef carving trolley, afternoon cream teas and dinner. Prior booking is essential by calling 01872 50 11 11.
