Restaurant and takeaway Vegan India opened on March 17th on Bristol’s Gloucester Road, offering meat-free takes on classic curries.
The new restaurant is the plant-based sister of Tikka Express on Stapleton Road in Easton, Bristol. This takeaway started offering vegan food in 2021, and the owners then decided to open a restaurant in Bishopston.
In February, it was confirmed that Tikka Express would become Vegan India, going entirely vegan. The curry house is now preparing to sell its vegan food on Gloucester Road.
Juwek Talukder, owner of Vegan India, said: “Thank you all for your support last two years, and we are really grateful to you. We are dedicated to serving our vegan community with delicious Indian food.
“It is a great moment for us and we are really proud to open a vegan restaurant. With your help and support, we will try our best to give you the best Indian food and service.”
The takeaway menu includes a vegan no-chicken starter, no beef steak chat and vegan butter chicken. There’s also a vegan tandoori mix grill, began butter no-chicken and vegan lamb tikka masala.
The new restaurant will be open daily from 4.45pm until 10.30pm.
