Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens is hosting the perfect Easter day out for foodies when the Food Fair returns on Saturday 8 April.
In association with Dorset Food & Drink, some 40 stallholders will showcase locally made food, drink, and artisanal gifts – all wrapped up in the Gardens’ fabulous location, served with a side of music and tasty Easter treats to sample and buy. Whether it’s local cheese, funky craft ales, cider, chocolate, a unique piece of jewellery, or perhaps something beautiful or functional made from upcycled items – there are plenty of Easter gift ideas, with hot food and drink on offer.
There is the bonus of the chance to support local producers and makers and get to know the people who make, bake, brew, cook, sew, grow, craft, and create lovely things.
Over lunchtime musicians Barbara Gasior and Aaron Carter will be entertaining the crowds, who will also be able to wander the Subtropical Gardens at their leisure.

Dorset Food & Drink Coordinator Caz Richards says: “The build-up to our first event of the year is exciting, but we’re mindful that the cost of living is still on people’s minds. So, we’re advocating a local approach and sourcing gifts and food from businesses on our doorstep. We’re really looking forward to welcoming visitors where they will be able to buy something small and tasty or perhaps splash out on a unique foodie or artisan gift. Either way, we hope that visitors will enjoy meeting the producers, discover new products or stock up on their favourites!”
Martin Alderman, General Manager at Abbotsbury Tourism adds: “We are delighted that the Food Fair is returning to the Gardens and to be working with Dorset Food & Drink again to celebrate the county’s wonderful produce and producers. Visitors will be able to enjoy the Food Fair as well as visit the Gardens in their spring finery for one all-inclusive price – it’s a wonderful day out during the Easter Holiday weekend!”

Tickets for the Food Fair, including Gardens’ entry, are £7.50 for adults, £5 for children and free for under-5s. More information at abbotsbury-tourism.co.uk/gardens
On Easter Monday, 10 April, Transport of Yesteryear members show off their collection of classic, vintage and veteran motor vehicles in the Gardens. A Garden entry ticket provides access to the display, at no extra cost.
Meanwhile at Abbotsbury Swannery, an Easter Spotters’ Trail will be running through the school holidays from 1- 16 April.
