
International Cocktail Day will be celebrated in Cirencester with the launch of the Cotswold Cocktail Competition.

The Battle of the Bar Gods, as it has been dubbed, will see last year’s champion Ryan Walters of Ingleside Hotel and Téatro Restaurant and Bar defend his mixology title against Tierra and Mar’s Luis Paladines, Alex O’Hara of Sam and Jak, and newcomer, Nico Travers, from Pettifers in Crudwell.
The event, that will take place in June and will be judged by distillery, Wood Bros from Bampton, they will be making the gin, vodka and vermouth used in the competition. The competition will be launched on International Cocktail Day which is Saturday 13th May at Ingleside.
“Whom is the king of the Cocktail Shaker in Cirencester,” said Charlie Wood of Wood Bros. “The challenge is to make a stunning summer drink, the winning cocktail will go onto a special menu at the winner’s venue.”
Téatro’s Ryan said of his defence: “Others in the town are welcome to join in, I want to beat everyone this year. It was great fun last year as we would never usually get the chance to all come together.”
Ryan’s cocktail was a ‘Black Eye’, Wiesse and Krohn Port, Woods Navy Strength Rum, Bumbu Original Rum, Benriarch 10 YO Scotch, lime juice & raspberry syrup.
The Cotswold Cocktail King will be crowned at the Ingleside Hotel in Cirencester on Monday 19th June.
