The Milk Shed @ Wellington in Somerset joined Taste of the West’s community of local food & drink members just over a year ago in May 2022. The Milk Shed is a family run micro dairy where the Dunster family milk their small herd of Jersey, Friesian & cross bred cows. They opened The Milk Shed @ Wellington as a self-Service milk vending machine in June 2021 supplying fresh whole unhomogenised milk and the option to make your own milkshake. They have 19 flavours to choose from that are available 24/7!
“We have been blown away by local support for what we do” the Dunster family say. “People now buy all their milk from us which means next to no food miles, and no plastic waste.” In the summer of 2022, they added a milk delivery service on Tuesdays & Thursdays, from their cows to your door by 7am. This, they say, has gone from strength to strength. “We sell all our milk direct to the final customer; it has been a real eye opener to see how people regard local produce. We were so proud to have won a Gold Award from Taste of the West for our milk and look forward to entering our farm-made cream this year.”
