Leading holiday company Cornish Gems has been named among the UK’s elite Top 10 Best Workplaces in Travel 2023 – achieving 6th place in the mid-sized company category.
The survey-based awards, Best Workplaces in Travel, recognises the best operators in the travel industry from across the whole of the UK.
Cornish Gems was the only Cornwall-based travel company to make the shortlist, being recognised alongside industry giants such as Kuoni, Easyjet Holidays, Panache Cruises and Intrepid.
Established by Gail Kenny and Jane Sunley, workplace culture experts, the Best Workplaces in Travel Awards are designed to identify brilliant businesses, by asking the people who truly know – the employees.
Following an extensive employee survey questionnaire, the independently owned Cornish company achieved an impressive Staff Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 76 – which especially highlighted that the Cornish Gems team are engaged, with a good work/life balance, and supported by a strong leadership team.
Founded in 2007, Cornish Gems is now a nationally renowned independent specialist and considered the go-to for exceptional holidays in Cornwall. Employing over 100 local people, with offices in Truro and on the Roseland, they offer a handpicked collection of 200 extraordinary properties across the county.
Nadia Macer-Wright, Cornish Gems Founder, says: “To be recognised in the top 10 best UK workplaces in travel, and represent Cornish tourism on a national platform, is a very special accomplishment and one we’re enormously proud of. It’s a true testament to our team and we hugely appreciate everyone’s individual contribution towards making Cornish Gems such a great place to work.”
Nadia Macer-Wright (Cornish Gems founder), Michelle Baillie (Commercial Director) and Tamsin Huddy (People and Transformation Director) attended the award celebration at a beautiful venue on Southwark Bridge in London – on June 14th 2023 – where the winners were revealed.
