Copperfish Distillery continue to push boundaries and develop new exciting drinks and they have been a long time awaiting to launch their whiskey style products.
With the official launch of Kerbon® at the Looe Food Festival on September 10th there’s a buzz around the distillery in anticipation. At the festival Jamie from Tom Thumb in Newquay will be joining Copperfish to demonstrate some cocktails using our range of spirits including Kerbon®.
So what is Kerbon® I hear you ask. Well, if you like Bourbon you’ll love Kerbon®. It is a Cornish “Bourbon” Style Spirit made from local corn, barley and wheat. After careful fermentation the mash is distilled in our pot still which is cut to retain flavour with the highest quality. The fine liquor is then rested in specially selected oak casks to develop taste and colour. Great neat, with a little ice or cola, it is a versatile aged spirit that drinks like a Bourbon and a great base for classic cocktails such as an old fashioned.
Along with Kerbon® , the team have also brought to market Copperfish Cornish Single Grain Reserve. This is a very smooth aged spirit made from a mash of single grain creating a smooth creamy liquor before aging in selected oak casks. With a different approach and expression this resembles spirits this side of the Atlantic. Best served neat or with a little ice.
