Finalists announced for 22nd Cornwall Tourism Awards

The Finalists have been announced for this year’s Cornwall Tourism Awards which will be presented in Truro Cathedral on 23rd November 2023.

62 finalists have been announced for this year’s Cornwall Tourism Awards following three months of judging. All will be in suspense until the Awards Ceremony in Truro Cathedral, when they will learn whether they have won Gold, Silver or Bronze awards. A further three special awards will also be announced and nine will be rewarded with Commended status.

The annual competition is now in its 22nd year, with changes every year to categories and criteria, reflecting the constant innovation and reinvention across the industry. This year’s awards took ever greater account of entrants’ commitment to accessibility and inclusion, including mental health, as well as the environment and community. The awards organisers were also pleased to retain their own ‘Outstanding’ accreditation in the Awards TrustMark scheme.

Winners will be announced at a glittering ceremony in Truro Cathedral on 23 November, with successful businesses in most categories fast tracked into the South West Tourism Excellence Awards in March 2024 and possibly invited to represent Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly in the 2024 national VisitEngland Awards.

Paul Hawkins, from Title Sponsor NFU Mutual Central Cornwall Agency, said: “This outstanding list of finalists demonstrates what makes Cornwall a world-class destination and we wish them all the best of luck. We are immensely proud to support these awards which champion quality and excellence across the county’s tourism industry.”

Awards organiser Robin Barker of Services for Tourism commented: “It never ceases to amaze me that this fabulous industry continues to adapt and innovate, delivering happiness to so many and stimulating careers for people of all ages. Many congratulations to everyone.”

Award categories cover everything from dog friendly, new tourism business, and accessible and inclusive tourism to restaurants, glamping, hotels and pubs. A Winner of Winners title, an Unsung Hero award and special Outstanding Contribution to Tourism award will also be presented on the night.
