MJBaker introduces a brand new foodservice depot

MJBaker Foodservice, a leading local foodservice provider in the South West, in partnership with Westcountry Foods, is building a new state-of-the-art foodservice depot in the Westcountry. The new depot, which is part of the Kitwave Wholesale Group, will be located on an 80,000 sq ft site and is expected to be completed by the summer of 2025.

The new depot will offer a range of benefits to the customers of both MJBaker Foodservice and Westcountry Foods, including:

• A freshness guarantee, as they will source local ingredients directly from regional farms, ensuring the highest quality and freshness of their produce.
• An expanded product range, as the depot will carry a wider selection of items, from fresh fruits and vegetables to dairy, ambient, chilled, frozen, ice cream, disposables, cleaning products and specialty lines.
• A more dynamic and efficient service, enabling faster order processing and 6 days a week delivery.
• A sustainability initiative, as they will incorporate more eco-friendly practices, such as energy-efficient systems and reduced waste management, to minimize their environmental impact
• More community engagement, as the team will accommodate more opportunities to support and engage with local initiatives in the area, as well as create more employment opportunities.

Chris Young LLB, the Divisional Operations Director of the Kitwave Wholesale Group says: “We are delighted with the progress of our 80,000 sq ft site and are on schedule and excited by the service proposition we will be able to offer our loyal customer base in the Southwest.”

The company will keep its customers and partners updated on the development of the new depot through its newsletter and social media channels. They also thanked their customers for their ongoing support and expressed their excitement to embark on this journey with them and continue to be their trusted foodservice partner.

MJBaker look forward to meeting up with everyone at their 25th anniversary annual trade show at Sandy Park on the 20th of February. Over 100 suppliers will be on site exhibiting a wide range of products with amazing deals.

Both MJBaker and Westcountry Foods will be at the Source tradeshow at Westpoint Exeter on the 6th and 7th of February and at Expowest Cornwall in Wadebridge on the 6th and 7th of March.
