The White Hart Hotel in Martock, Somerset, recently celebrated its 20th year of Beaujolais Nouveau. The event is held yearly on the third Thursday of November, and the village comes together at the hotel to celebrate French wine, food, and music. The event is so popular that it is usually booked up four to five months in advance.
The hotel celebrates the French tradition due to its strong roots with the country. The French landlady Isabelle, the landlord Peter, and their three daughters are all fluent in the language and traditions, making it a family occasion at the hotel.

The specialized evening menu featured some classic French dishes such as Moules à la crème, Duck Confit, Boeuf Bourguignon, and Coq au Vin. Most of the produce was brought over from France, adding to the authenticity of the evening. The wine is always flowing, with a large amount of Beaujolais wine consumed on the evening.
Isabelle herself serenades the diners and drinkers with her accordion, leading a full sing-along featuring French and English musical numbers that everyone takes part in.
The staff all dress in their best striped tops and fake moustaches, and most customers follow suit.
