Sarah Massey appointed as head winemaker at Lyme Bay Winery

Devon Company LBW Drinks Ltd is pleased to announce the appointment of Sarah Massey as the new Head Winemaker. With an impressive track record and four years of dedicated service to the company, Massey’s promotion is a testament to her exceptional talent and commitment to the craft of winemaking and the production of other quality products within the LBW Drinks Portfolio.

Having joined Lyme Bay Winery four years ago, Massey has consistently demonstrated her expertise and passion for producing high-quality products. Her deep understanding of the winemaking process, combined with her innovative approach, has contributed significantly to the success and growth of the company.

As the Head Winemaker, Massey will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the still and sparkling winemaking process at Lyme Bay Winery. This includes working closely with the vineyard owners and growers, selecting the finest grapes, and ensuring the production of exceptional wines that reflect the unique and different terroirs the winery works with. Massey will also oversee production of the other premium products within the portfolio including, the award-winning Jack Ratt Mead, Jack Ratt Lugger Spiced and Golden Rum, Fruit Wines and Devon Gins.

Commenting on her promotion, Sarah Massey said, “I am truly honoured to be appointed as the Head Winemaker at Lyme Bay Winery. Over the past few years, I have had the privilege of working alongside James and the team and witnessing the growth of this remarkable winery. I am excited to take on this new role.”

Lyme Bay Winery’s Managing Director, James Lambert, expressed his confidence in Massey’s abilities, stating, “Sarah has consistently demonstrated her dedication and expertise in winemaking. Her promotion to Head Winemaker is well-deserved, and I am confident she will continue to produce exceptional wines that captivate wine enthusiasts worldwide.”

Massey’s appointment comes at an exciting time for Lyme Bay Winery, as the company continues to expand its portfolio and gain international recognition particularly for its outstanding still wines. Sarah will take on the role with immediate effect.
