Two in a row – The owners of Kernowine open a second premises, Kernow Deli & Dine

Following the success of Kernowine, just two years later, owners Del & Natasha Crookes have opened Kernow Dine & Deli, right next door.

22 Killigrew Street, known as Kernow Dine & Deli, is the latest addition to one of Falmouth’s most iconic streets. By day, visitors can expect to find award-winning produce from Cornwall and beyond in the deli, such as charcuteries, pasta, cheese, as well as homemade focaccia, freshly baked croissants and fresh salad boxes. By night, the space transforms into a fine-dining restaurant with a monthly changing menu of small plates, with Head Chef Gabriel Verdi at the helm.

Explaining the opening, Natasha Crookes, owner of Kernow Deli & Dine said: “It seems like yesterday that we opened Kernowine, but thanks to the fantastic support we’ve received from our local community and visitors alike, we’re delighted to throw the doors open to our second shop and restaurant. Kernow Dine & Deli prides itself on selling award-winning produce that showcases the UKs incredible food supplier scene. We then convert into a cosy restaurant in the evening, where guests can taste the best of Cornish produce with French and Italian inspiration, by talented chef Gabriel Verdi.”

Gabriel Verdi is a young, talented chef who has spent the past six years working in Cornwall and London, and training under names such as Gordon Ramsay and Adam Handling at the Ugly Butterfly. At Kernow Dine & Deli, Gabriel’s approach sees a monthly changing menu that uses locally sourced produce, to create fresh and experimental small plates.

Gabriel added: “It’s always an honour to be trusted to develop and serve a menu as a Head Chef. What we’re working on at Kernow Dine & Deli is ensuring incredible quality and a unique and intimate dining experience – I’m really proud of what we’re offering and know that there’s so much more to come!”

Ring in 2024 in style – for New Year, join Gabriel, Natasha and Del for a six-course tasting dinner at Kernow Dine & Deli, with a cocktail on arrival and fizz to ring in the New Year. The evening promises to be a taste sensation and a calendar celebration. There are limited places remaining – booking is essential, by calling 01326 765792.

The café and deli are open Monday – Saturday 9.30am-4pm. The restaurant opens from Tuesday – Saturday, 5pm-10.30pm.
