English Orchard gin, a small-batch London Dry Gin from Devon’s Thunderflower Distillery has been awarded the industries top award, a Gold & Best English Signature Botanical award from the World Gin Awards 2024.
Over 500 bronze, silver and gold medals were presented to distilleries across the globe for recognising excellence in many different gin categories.
The Country Winners and medalists were announced at yesterday’s event in the Dockside Vaults in London, where Dom and Anicca also got to taste and judge other categories to determine overall World’s Best.
As a Country Winner, English Orchard now goes head-to-head with gins from all the other countries competing for the prestigious title of World’s Best Gin in each category. This will be announced on 22 February at a glittering ceremony in London.
Crisp English apples and a blend of warming spices are distilled with citrus and carefully chosen botanicals to create sweet mulled apple flavours in balance with a juniper finish. The botanical flavours are extracted through delicate vapour infusion in a one-shot distillation run with only pure Dartmoor spring water added to dilute the final spirit.
