Farrs Farm

Farrs Farm has been in the May family for three generations. A 15th century Devon farmhouse in the middle of the Taw Valley, surrounded by fields, woodland and riverbanks.

“The dairy business came about because of the shortages during the Covid pandemic. Hazel, our house cow became very popular with friends and family, and we soon had to buy 2 more cows to keep up with demand. Three years on, we have 19 cows and a purpose-built micro dairy room.” Michele explains.

“Our respect for the land and the animals we raise is at the heart of what we do. So, we are all thrilled to have won Taste of the West’s Champion Dairy Award in 2023, especially as this was our first year at entering Taste of the West. Together with winning a gold medal for all 3 products entered and then the butter becoming Champion has been an amazing achievement for our small family business.”

You can check out Farrs Farm on their website.

Farrs Farm are a member of our Taste of the West community of over 1,000 members who are all passionate about the local food and drink that they produce, serve, or sell. If you would like to enter either our product or hospitality/retail awards, or you would like some information about how to join our community as a member, send an email to Lily: ll@tasteofthewest.co.uk.
