The Jurassic Coast Farm Shop, signposted off the Dorchester Road outside Winfrith Newburgh, is celebrating its recent crowning as Best Southwest Online Retailer at The Taste Of The West Awards 2023 and when you delve into their offerings it’s hard not to be as impressed as the judges.
The butchery counter is a feast for the senses with beautiful Aberdeen Angus Beef and outdoor bred Duroc Cross pork all reared on the family farm and freshly displayed in the shop – the finest and freshest produce at affordable prices- and Sam the Butcher is on hand for any advice or suggestions to turn the cuts into fabulous dishes.

The shop also stocks a wonderful range of food and drink from neighbouring local Dorset producers including sustainably sourced fish, local cheeses, fruit and vegetables. Crumbly, creamy or pungent, there’s a cheese to suit your taste and fizzy, still or strong there’s a drink to accompany it.
And if you can’t make it to the shop in person, then the online offering is comprehensive and straight forward with clear pricing and descriptions for goods and delivery charges.
The shop delivers fabulous local food with a strong sustainability message. Supporting other local farmers and growers is something the owners are very proud of. As farmers themselves, they understand what goes into producing high quality free-range meat and they care deeply about the welfare of their animals.
“We are passionate about traditional British farming and using agricultural methods that sustain the environment for the future.”

Participating in a Higher-Level Stewardship agricultural-environmental management scheme, they are working hard to conserve the local wildlife, protect natural resources, protect the historical landscape and promote public access and understanding of the countryside.
One of their primary focuses is protecting and feeding the wild birds such as lapwing, corn bunting and grey partridge. They also plant pollen and nectar-rich flowers to create a habitable environment for the local bees, butterflies and hoverflies. To date, they have planted 1.2 hectares of trees across the farm to reduce their carbon footprint and give back to the countryside.
So, when you shop at this well-stocked treasure trove of delicious food, you know that you are supporting a healthy, sustainable farming practice as well as putting award-winning food on your table!
