Carbis Bay Hotel & Estate raise £83,606 in 2023 for Cornwall air ambulance

Carbis Bay Hotel & Estate in St Ives, Cornwall, is delighted to announce the remarkable success of its fundraising campaign in support of Cornwall Air Ambulance.

Through a series of events and initiatives throughout 2023, Carbis Bay Estate and their guests have raised a wonderful £83,606 for Cornwall Air Ambulance, an essential service that plays a crucial role in providing emergency medical assistance to those in need of critical care across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Thanks to the local support and the generosity of attendees and stall holders at the annual Festive Coastal Christmas Market and Carol Concert held on the Estate in December, an amazing £11,218 was raised. Some of these funds were doubled as part of the Jess’s Journey Christmas campaign , thanks to the charity’s generous match funders and this was topped off with £2,000 kindly match-funded by Lloyds Bank.

Along with the incredible generosity of guest donations, Platinum Sponsorship of the helicopter, auction purchases and retail sales at the Estate Deli, an additional £59,401 was added to the fundraising effort.

Julia Jeffery, Corporate Fundraiser at Cornwall Air Ambulance said “We extend our heartfelt thanks to Carbis Bay Hotel for their unwavering support. Their Coastal Christmas Market was a tremendous success, thanks to the generosity of their guests and the local community, contributing to vital funds that enable our critical care crew to reach patients in need when every minute manners.”

The funds raised will directly contribute to Cornwall Air Ambulance’s ongoing mission to deliver rapid, life-saving care to those facing critical situations. The impact of these contributions will be felt throughout the community, ensuring that individuals in remote or challenging locations receive prompt medical attention when every second counts.

“We are immensely proud of the generosity and enthusiasm shown by our community, guests, and team members in rallying behind Cornwall Air Ambulance,” said Stephen Baker, owner of Carbis Bay Hotel & Estate. “The amount raised is a testament to the power of coming together for a shared cause, and we are delighted to support such a vital service that plays a critical role in our local emergency response.”

Carbis Bay is committed to helping raise awareness of Cornwall Air Ambulance and encourages voluntary guest donations through its in-room guest tablets, which provide informative and educational information on the charity. Additionally, departing guests are invited to include a donation on their bill. A selection of branded merchandise is available from the Estate’s Promenade Deli and Beach Shop, all profits going directly to the Trust.

The commitment to support Cornwall Air Ambulance is in addition to the ongoing support for the Estate’s other chosen charities and support groups.
