Rangeford Villages appoints Italian-born Danijel Furjan as their new Executive Head Chef

Rangeford’s Siddington Park village in Cirencester has appointed renowned Italian Head Chef Danijel Furjan to open and manage its new restaurant, ‘The Orangery’.

Danijel Furjan was born and raised in Northern Italy, and moved to Cirencester 14 years ago at just 20 years old to pursue his career in the culinary arts. From a very young age he has had a passion for food and cooking, growing up in a culinary country surrounded by the freshest ingredients, inspired by generations of his family’s home cooking.

His favourite foods are Asian and Mediterranean cuisine, with a particular love of seafood. Having been based in The Cotswold’s for much of his career, his favourite restaurant to visit when he is not cooking himself, is The Old Butchers in Stow-on-the-Wold.

Before moving to the UK, Danijel spent 5 years in cooking school at I.P.S.S.A.R. Alfredo Beltrame in Italy. Since moving to the UK, he has worked his way up in the culinary industry starting as just a waiter to now being a head chef with experience in Michelin Star restaurants. Danijel has worked in some great establishments in the Cotswolds including Barnsley House and Lords of the Manor. He has worked hard to learn everything there is to know about running a kitchen and now has the skills to create innovative recipes and develop imaginative menu options.

Starting his new role at Siddington Park on the 12th April 2024, Danijel is now tasked with hiring a whole new team for his kitchen ahead of the opening of The Orangery that will transform Siddington Park into a top culinary destination. It will open to the public on Monday 13th May for lunch every day and dinner on Friday and Saturday evenings. Along with his team he will be cooking British and Mediterranean cuisine using only the best fresh, local and quality ingredients, creating mouth-watering seasonal menus. Danijel has a passion for baking and will be hiring a top-class pastry chef to make homemade breads and afternoon teas. He will also be planting up a dedicated kitchen garden along with Chris Liversidge, Rangeford’s award-winning Head of Landscaping and Gardening.
