British Beef Week begins on Tuesday 23 April and Cirencester’s BBQ and smokehouse, Cheeky Swine has teamed up with new butchers and meat company, CotsWild to produce its usual dishes as well as some stunning specials for the week.
The nationwide campaign, British Beef Week, celebrates the versatility and exceptional taste of British beef farmers to sustainable practices.
Located at Arkell’s Brewery, The Bee’s Knees, in the town’s Watermoor area, Cheeky Swine has been operating since the beginning of summer 2023 and uses beef brisket, burgers, and cuts for Sunday lunch to produce its smokehouse food.
Cheeky Swine head chef and landlord, Neil Johnson, said: “The week that begins on St. George’s Day gives us the opportunity to celebrate the sustainability of our local beef. In this region alone, we have the perfect climate for rearing beef cattle. We are very lucky to have this all on our doorstep, and it’s one of the reasons that I wanted to set up Cheeky Swine here in Cirencester.”
