Cirencester is preparing for the annual Cotswold Cocktail Competition. This year’s event will see the 2022 champion, Ryan Walters from Téatro Bar and Restaurant, once again compete against 17 Black, this time with the wine and cocktail bar’s senior mixologist – James Stone. These cocktail maestros will be joined in the competition by Bogdan Martin from Cirencester Park Polo Club Bar and Brasserie.
International Cocktail Day, which takes place on 13 May, will see competitors gather to prepare their summer drinks, one alcoholic and one mocktail, for a panel of esteemed judges.
“This will be a fierce competition,” said Ryan Walters from Téatro, “the challenge is to create a stunning summer drink. The winning cocktail will be featured on a special menu at the winner’s venue. We launched a new drinks menu this month; perhaps we will have to add a few more after I win!”
Ethen Rodgers, the executive chef of Cirencester Park Polo Club, added: “Bogdan is a budding cocktail king; he has already been practising his flaring. It’s a bit of fun and a chance for some of the hospitality and industry professionals to come together and showcase what we are doing.“
