Old Harry Rocks Bar & Restaurant opens at THE NICI

The crew at Old Harry Rocks Bar & Restaurant were all hands-on deck, as they welcomed guests to the opening weekend of Bournemouth’s hottest new hangout. Located at THE NICI, the casual dining spot is now complete, marking the introduction of the exciting new destination restaurant. Set on the Westcliff, overlooking Bournemouth’s iconic sandy shores, with sweeping views of the Purbecks, this breezy beachside restaurant is the ultimate laidback, sun-drenched bar and restaurant for foodies and seaside revellers alike.

The restaurant offers big flavours that match the epic views, guests can dive into a plate of mussels and clams, with saffron and focaccia croutons, or enjoy slow-roasted beef picanha, chimichurri, and onion jam. Or if you want to share, the legendary Harry’s combo of beef picanha, prawns, mussels, fries, and salad is a must. Complemented by an excellent wine list and a selection of curated signature sundowner cocktails.

Lukasz Dwornik, Managing Director of The NICI Group said: “The opening weekend has been amazing. The teams have worked hard to create a stylish and relaxed setting that sets us apart from anything else in the area. I want to say thank you to our guests and to our staff who have worked hard to make Old Harry Rocks something very special.”

The restaurant has already received several glowing reviews from guests over its opening weekend, including:

  • Sarah on Tripadvisor gave it 5 stars, saying: “Restaurant is beautiful, décor is stunning and atmosphere is perfect. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. 5 stars! A jewel for Bournemouth’s food scene.”
  • Gary Durrant gave it 5/5 for food, service, and atmosphere on Google, saying: “Views from the restaurant are amazing, decoration very relaxed and chilled – restaurant has a great vibe, DJ and food superb!”
  • Adrian Rocha also gave the restaurant a 5-star review, commenting: “What a breath of fresh air! Just what Bournemouth needed… A touch of class and elegance with an incredible atmosphere. Love it and recommend everyone try.”

At the heart of the 120-cover bar & restaurant is the statement fireplace surrounded by comfy seating to enjoy cocktails and conversation. A dual-aspect bar serves the restaurant crowd and poolside cabana dwellers alike. The interior is decked out with warm woods, terrazzo tiles, and woven lighting to create a rustic-luxe, Mediterranean island vibe – and when the sun’s out, the restaurant’s stunning bi-folds seamlessly connect the inside with the sprawling terrace for leisurely sunshine lunches.

With DJs across the weekend, Old Harry Rocks is a vibe and experience that you won’t want to miss. Check out the menu and book your spot. Catch you on the cliff!

The debut of Old Harry Rocks caps off the exciting transformation of THE NICI into a year-round destination resort. Having first opened to much buzz in summer 2022, the 88-bedroom hotel welcomed a new 30m heated outdoor pool and award-winning spa in summer 2023. Its South Beach Bar & Restaurant will continue to showcase exceptional seafood, with a wide outdoor terrace for al fresco dining.

This June, the hotel will also unveil a new glass-fronted yoga and activity studio, further enhancing its wellness and family offerings.
