The NOTTY business awards return to The Forge of Winslade Manor on Thursday, the 21st of November, and the time to nominate is running out. With the St Austell Brewery-sponsored Hospitality Hero award up for grabs, it’s time to delve deeper into the awards that provide ‘real recognition for the best in business’.
The brainchild of former Exeter Chief Chris Bentley, the NOTTYS have disrupted the awards scene with top-quality judges, strict criteria, and a barnstorming presentation evening. Last year, Deer Park Country House took the Hospitality Hero award, and MD Mark Godfrey was on hand to pick up the trophy designed by local artist Brendan Rawlings of Zen Wood Design. After the event, Mark said: “This really ranks up there as one of the best days for Deer Park, and I’m delighted for the staff who got to enjoy this spectacular night and will further enjoy looking at our very handsome trophy.“
This year’s judging panel is headed up by Andrew Jackson (former CEO of Mole Valley Farmers) and includes Nina Sarlaka (head of inward investment Plymouth CC), Dr. Sally Basker (CEO Exeter Science Park), Adel Jones (Deputy CEO Torbay and South Devon NHS), and Dave Gough (Angel Investor), who will be casting a stern eye over the shortlist later this month. With only one hospitality winner, the lucky recipient will be in quite rarified air and enjoy a true mark of distinction in the region.
