Black Bee Honey partners with Michelin star restaurant Osip and chef Merlin Labron-Johnson

B Corp certified award-winning British beekeeper collective Black Bee Honey has partnered with Michelin and Green star restaurant Osip and its chef Merlin Labron-Johnson, to set up beehives at the restaurant’s new farm location in Bruton, Somerset.

Black Bee Honey has installed beehives in Osip’s new garden during the spring and summer months and have been training their team in the art of beekeeping and producing honey. Black Bee co-founders Paul Webb and Chris Barnes have recently helped the Osip team harvest their first honey which is now being paired with the restaurant’s cheese board on their farm to table tasting menu, with further plans to use the honey in recipes.

Paul Webb, co-founder of Black Bee Honey said: “We’re delighted to be working with the incredibly talented Merlin and his team at Osip as we share a deep commitment to sustainability. We were thrilled that they approached us to help them set up and learn about beekeeping and they’re now experiencing the exceptional taste of single source honey with their very first harvest.”

Osip’s Merlin Labron-Johnson added: “This project has been an exciting addition to the Osip project. Paul and his team have been amazing—really supportive and patient as we’ve learned along the way. The quality and taste of the honey produced is outstanding and we’re already using it in our dishes. We can’t wait to grow this partnership further.”

Black Bee Honey is available online at www.blackbeehoney.com. To book a table at Osip, go to www.osiprestaurant.com.
