Artisan condiment maker Tracklements won the SME South West Business of the Year award sponsored by Partners& and Michelmores. The judges chose Tracklements as a business demonstrating sustained growth who have shown investment in their future and who have strong employee engagement.
From their rural factory in Wiltshire, Tracklements hand make from scratch their range of 50 award winning condiments. They have also just re-certified as a B-Corp business having been one of the first manufacturers in the UK to attain B Corp status.
One of the areas focused on both by B Corp and the South West Business Awards was employee engagement, an area in which Tracklements is very strong. In their staff survey this year 92% of the 70 employees said that they were proud to tell people where they worked.
Tracklements are also committed to growing a sustainable business, generating electricity from the solar panels on their roof and treating their own waste water as well as sourcing their ingredients locally first, then regionally, nationally and then internationally.
But ask them what’s most important and they will say the taste and quality of the products they make, and have been making for over 50 years. They have a range of over 50 products which have won a mighty 190 food awards between them.
MD Guy Tullberg says: “We’re immensely proud to be a British B Corp manufacturer and it’s brilliant to receive the endorsement of these awards. We hope it is a reflection of support for businesses like ours who are making a positive impact and using business as a force for good.”
