Somerset Charcuterie have had an exciting time recently with many developments behind the scenes and their joy was amplified as they were awarded the Taste of the West Champion Charcuterie 2024 for their Xalapa Coppa.
The awards ceremony took place at WestPoint in Exeter on Tuesday, 12th November, celebrating the finest food producers, retailers, and hospitality hosts in the South West. The evening was capped off with a delightful dinner, and they were deeply honoured to receive the Champion Charcuterie 2024 accolade.
If you haven’t tried Somerset Charcuteries Xalapa Coppa yet, you’re in for a treat. This air-dried pork collar is seasoned with a blend of three chillies, herbs, and spices, resulting in a rich and creamy flavour after 3-6 months of maturation. It’s a perfect blend of Mexican and Somerset influences!
For the best experience, serve it simply to let the flavours shine. It’s delicious on a charcuterie platter or paired with crusty sourdough and a light, medium-sweet white wine.
