Langham Wine Estate shines at two regional wine awards WineGB West Awards and WineGB Wessex Awards

Langham Wine Estate is celebrating an outstanding year of awards, cementing its place at the forefront of English winemaking. Most recently, the Dorset-based winery and vineyard has received a combined six trophies at two regionally recognised awards, including four at the WineGB West Awards and two at the WineGB Wessex Awards.

Held at Aldwick Estate in December, the WineGB West Awards recognised Langham Wine Estate’s exceptional sparkling wines with trophies for ‘Best Classic Cuvée’ for its Corallian Classic Cuvée, ‘Best Blanc de Blancs’ for its Blanc de Blancs NV, ‘Best Blanc de Noirs’ for its Pinot Noir 2019 and ‘Best Producer’ for its range as a whole.

In November, the WineGB Wessex Awards celebrated its 40th year with a lunch at The PIG Hotel in Brockenhurst. Competing against over 50 wineries from Dorset, Hampshire, Isle of Wight and Wiltshire, Langham Wine Estate secured ‘The PIG Wessex Wine of the Year’ Trophy and ‘The Best in Wessex Sparkling Brut’ Trophy for its Pinot Noir 2019.

These regional awards follow Langham Wine Estate’s notable recognition at the nationally recognised WineGB Awards 2024, where the estate received ‘Best NV/MV Classic Cuvée’ for its Corallian Classic Cuvée NV, ‘Best Blanc de Noirs’ and ‘Wessex Trophy’ for its Pinot Noir 2019 and ‘Best Estate Winery’ for the strength of its range.

Head Winemaker at Langham Wine Estate, Tommy Grimshaw, commented: “We are delighted with the record number of trophies we have received this year, at both the national and regional WineGB Awards. It shows that there is room for different styles at the top of the traditional method sparkling wine category and that for me is very exciting. English wine is still in its infancy, so it’s nice to see our oxidative, low intervention style being appreciated. The whole team at Langham have poured so much passion and dedication into these wines, so I’m incredibly proud of them all and I hope they’re proud of themselves after this year!”

In addition, this year Langham Wine Estate has received the following awards:
• The Real Review Winery of the Year Great Britain 2024
• WineGB Awards 2024 – Corallian Classic Cuvée NV, Culver Classic Cuvée NV, Rosé NV, Blanc de Blancs NV and Pinot Noir 2019 received gold medals, and its limited edition still Chardonnay, Search for Enlightenment 2022, earned a silver medal.
• Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA) 2024 – Silver medals were awarded to Langham’s Corallian Classic Cuvée NV, Culver Classic Cuvée NV, Blanc de Blancs NV and Pinot Noir 2019, whilst a bronze medal went to Langham’s Rosé NV.
• Sommelier Wine Awards (SWA) 2024 – Awarded two Golds for Langham’s Corallian Classic Cuvée NV and Blanc de Blancs and two Silvers for its Rosé and Culver Classic Cuvée NV.
