Bays Brewery launches 2025 ‘Charity Brews’ to give back to Devon

Family-run Bays Brewery in Paignton is giving back to the Devon community it calls ‘home’ in 2025 with the launch of four brand-new limited-edition ‘Charity Brews’. Available on its online shop and in pubs across Devon, each beer will support a local charity close to the brewery’s heart, with 5% of every pint and bottle sold going directly to four worthy causes.

Kicking off its 2025 ‘Charity Brew’ line-up is ‘Evergreen’, a smooth session IPA which will be served in bars in Torbay and beyond from late February, supporting Torbay Coast & Countryside Trust (TCCT). Inspired by the region’s rich natural habitat, the bright fruit and citrus aromas of ‘Evergreen’ capture the vibrant essence of the wildlife and wild spaces that TCCT works tirelessly to protect.

The second charity brew of the year will be ‘Claw’, a copper-colored pale ale that will see Bays partner up with its friends at Paignton Zoo for a special-edition ‘animal ale’ that is fierce in flavour. Packed with purr-fectly balanced citrus flavors and refreshing fruity notes, the ‘Charity Brew’ celebrates plans for a new pool for the zoo’s Sumatran tigers, set to be revealed later this year. ‘Claw’ is the latest in a long line of beers developed by Bays Brewery in collaboration with the Torbay visitor attraction, which combined have raised £28,500 for endangered species to date.

Director of Bays Brewery, Peter Salmon, said: “As a Torbay-based family brewery that’s approaching its 18th year, our roots are firmly planted in the Devon community, and we’re incredibly proud to give back to the people and organisations that make this region so special. Our ‘Charity Brews’ aren’t just about creating great beers – they’re about making a meaningful difference. Whether it’s protecting our coastlines, supporting the region’s habitat, or helping local families in need, we’re thrilled to raise a glass for these worthy causes in 2025.”

The third charity beer of 2025 ‘Ahoy’ will go on sale in July, a gorgeous golden ale supporting the courageous crew who keep our coastlines safe, with proceeds going to Torbay Lifeboats (RNLI). Made from hops sourced exclusively from UK shores, the refreshing brew has been timed to coincide with CrewFest 2025, a ‘Quayside music and street food festival’ complete with a Bays pop-up bar.

Completing the charity line-up in November will be the return of Bays’ popular ‘Jingle Ale’, a ho-ho hoppy bitter that will once again support Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW). CHSW provides hospice care for children and their families across the South West living with life-limiting illnesses from point of diagnosis through to end of life.
