Contemporary French restaurant, Lapin set to launch at Wapping Wharf

The team behind multi award-winning fire cooking restaurant, BANK Bristol, have announced plans for their second project, with Lapin set to launch at Wapping Wharf on Wednesday 2 April. Headed up by BANK Bristol owner and founder, Dan O’Regan, alongside executive chef and co-owner, Jack Briggs-Horan, Lapin will see the pair bringing their modern take on French cuisine and bistro culture to Bristol’s harbourside.

While adopting BANK’s approach to local sourcing, with seasonal produce coming from some of the top producers across the South West, as well as the group’s own smallholding, Lapin will centre around a more classical style of eating out. Playing to Jack Briggs-Horan’s background of cooking in traditional French restaurants, Lapin’s seasonal menu will be built around starters, mains and desserts, with warm hospitality anchoring the dining experience.

Wine will play a big role at the restaurant, with a wide-ranging list of French vintages, and some French styles from around the world, striking a fine balance between household names and hidden gems. Everything will be available by the glass, with the team pouring freely throughout the week.

Dan O’Regan, owner and founder of Lapin, commented: “Having enjoyed such success and support for our wood fired sharing plates ethos at BANK, we’re unbelievably excited to be opening a restaurant that’s inspired by the inimitable style of French cooking. Warm hospitality, and a relaxed convivial spirit, backed up by playful twists on French classics, are going to be our foundation, and we really can’t wait to welcome both new and existing guests through our doors. Wapping Wharf is without a doubt a bastion of incredible restaurants in Bristol. From having our neighbourhood restaurant in Totterdown, it felt right to branch out to such a vibrant and community-minded part of the Bristol dining scene.”

Lapin will open in Cargo 2 at Wapping Wharf this April, with launch dates and opening hours due to be announced soon. Diners can subscribe to BANK Bristol’s newsletter to be the first to hear about launch plans and special events.
