Purbeck Cider introduces its latest cider event to the calendar: Apple Day
Do you have apple trees bearing more fruit than you know what to do with? Then you must come laden with apples to the first community pressing. Trade in your apples for tokens to either donate or buy great cider with, and see your fruit become part of The People’s Choice Cider, a small batch bespoke cider made from the fruit provided by the community.
This wholesome community event is set to take place on Saturday 20th September at the Dorset Cider Farm, the home of Purbeck Cider. People are encouraged to bring their own apples to contribute to Purbeck Cider’s first community pressing day. Apples will be weighed in and exchanged for tokens to be used in the cider shop or donated to charity. The fruit will become part of a new bespoke cider known as The People’s Choice, a blend of community fruit with our expert cider makers at hand to craft a fine cider which will be available in the New Year.
Apple Day will also have a local apple expert on hand to identify any mysterious unknown apples you may have growing in your gardens. Visitors can see and try the full range of different apples that Purbeck Cider grow and watch the team at work in the field harvesting and at the press.
As if that’s not enough, there will also be a host of other entertainment from traditional games to live music, and, a barbeque of hearty offerings to top it all off.
A lovely day out for the family in support of the Great British Apple and The People’s Choice Cider.
