Bristol Bar Show pops up at Shredenhams this September

Shredenhams, the renovated social space nestled inside the former Debenhams on Broadmead, is gearing up to host the Bristol Bar Show on Monday, 15 September 2025, with entry free for the hospitality and retail sector.

A Night of Drinks and Discovery
Presented by BARBI, the Bristol Bar Show promises an afternoon and evening of exploration and indulgence, featuring a line-up of over 50 confirmed drink brands ready to pour and mingle plus lots of service providers to the sector. Hosted in Shredenhams’ lively and versatile venue, this event will be the event to attend for owners and senior management in hospitality.

Brendan Murphy from the organisers BARBI stated: “As well as a huge number of drinks brands, we’ve got talks about Mental Health, Sustainability and The State of the Industry including how to protect our live music venues. Service providers are on hand to try and help save venues money in the continued harsh economic climate for hospitality. We’ll also be making a video to try and remind the government how important the industry is and how much needed support is required NOW in terms of a VAT reduction as well as fixing the broken business rates system. With over 89,000 jobs lost in the hospitality sector since last October it’s time the government wake up and start supporting small businesses before they are lost forever”.

Mike Kill, CEO of the Night Time Industries Association added: “I am really looking forward to the opportunity to meet with nightlife businesses across Bristol at the Bristol Bar Show this September. Shredenhams provides a fantastic setting for us to come together and discuss the key issues impacting hospitality, retail, and live music venues.

This event is an important moment for our industry – a chance not only to celebrate the creativity and resilience of our community but also to engage in meaningful conversations around sustainability and the urgent need for the government to address VAT and business rates reform.

The challenges we face are significant, but events like this remind us of the strength and determination within the sector. I’m eager to connect with operators, share insights, and work together on shaping a sustainable and supportive future for Bristol’s nightlife and hospitality economy.”
