The Penzance BID are delighted to share the launch of the Tapas Trail (or Tro Gwithys Kernewek – which translates from Cornish as ‘Cornish Taste Trail) a five-day celebration of food and drink showcasing some of the town’s best-loved restaurants and producers. From 17th to 21st September, locals and visitors alike are invited to explore Penzance in a new way – through bite-sized dishes, each priced at £5 or less.
The Tapas Trail brings together a diverse collection of independent restaurants, cafés, bars and shops, each offering their own unique “tapas” creation. Participants can pick up a Tapas Trail card and embark on a flavour-filled journey through the town, sampling everything from traditional Cornish favourites to inventive global small plates.
Participating venues include: The Alverne, The Cornish Hen, The Front Room, Pocket Full of Stones, Chapel House, Jubilee Pool, Whits and Bay, Redwing Gallery, Flatties, Zennor Wild, Loafs, Fraser’s Fish & Chips, Thai Moon, Pirates Rest, Archie Browns, Lavenders, Hellys Bistro, RideOn, and Boatshed.
With dishes served in miniature, visitors can enjoy a variety of flavours while discovering hidden gems across the town. The Tapas Trail is a Penzance’s creative spirit and culinary talent and coincides with the second Penzance Food Festival in Penlee Park, from 19-21st September.
“The Tapas Trail is all about bringing people together, whether you’re a local rediscovering your town or a visitor exploring it for the first time. It’s a fantastic way to showcase the creativity, hospitality, and flavour that make Penzance special,” said Sarah Shaw of the Penzance BID.
