Bowgie Inn: Coastal comfort & festive magic in Crantock

When the waves grow wild and the nights draw in, Bowgie Inn is where Crantock comes together—a place to slow down, warm up, and celebrate the season by the sea. Perched high above Crantock Beach, the cliff-top location offers front-row views of the Atlantic and a festive atmosphere brimming with great food, local flavour, and community spirit.

This November and December, Bowgie kicks off a season of magic with three heartwarming Sunday events designed to lift your spirits and bring everyone together. On Sunday 30th November, start your festive season with a magical Sunday roast and live piano from Rhys, the Night Church Pianist. From quiet beginnings to viral fame, charity concerts at Truro Cathedral, and even a Pride of Britain Award, Rhys’s moving music will fill Bowgie with atmosphere and emotion—an afternoon of food, warmth, and wonder.

On Sunday 7th December, Newquay Town Band brings joyful brass melodies to the Inn. Their lively tunes pair perfectly with seasonal roasts and drinks for a Sunday lunch full of laughter, singalongs, and Christmas nostalgia with friends, family, and the local community.

Finally, on Sunday 14th December, the iconic VW Christmas Ride Out returns, rolling a colourful convoy of classic and modern campervans into Bowgie for a family-friendly celebration of food, fun, and festive spirit—a local favourite every year.

As the air turns crisp, the kitchen turns up the comfort factor. From Steak & Ale Pie with flaky pastry to rich Beef Stroganoff, hearty Lasagne, and steaming bowls of Chilli con Carne, every dish is packed with flavour and warmth. You can enjoy all-day brunches and homemade cakes, or treat yourself to a legendary Cornish cream tea—fresh scones piled high with jam and clotted cream, best savoured with sea views and good company. Between 11am and 12pm daily, brunch comes with a FREE hot drink—the perfect excuse for a leisurely late breakfast by the coast.

Every Sunday, the Inn serves festive roasts featuring turkey, sprouts, cranberry sauce, pigs in blankets, and all your favourite trimmings. Nothing says winter like a steaming hot drink at Bowgie, whether it’s a zesty Flamed Orange Hot Chocolate, a decadent Bailey’s Hot Chocolate, or a velvety Latte or Mocha with seasonal syrups like pumpkin or cinnamon. For something stronger, raise a glass of Cornish gin, a locally brewed ale, or a crisp Healey’s Rattler cyder to toast the year gone by.

When the weather turns wild, retreat to the pool room for a friendly game—perfect with a pint or a slice of homemade cake. Whether it’s a bracing coastal walk followed by a hot chocolate, a quiet coffee watching the waves, or a Sunday roast with live music, Bowgie Inn is the ultimate destination for connection, comfort, and coastal magic this season.

Wrap up, head to Crantock, and experience where the food is hearty, the views are breath-taking, and the welcome is as warm as ever. Check Bowgie Inn’s Christmas Opening Times on their website and plan your visit!
