Lechlade is gearing up for an exciting addition to its food scene this December, with the launch of You Me and Umami — the first restaurant of its kind from restaurateur and business owner Foyez Rahman.
Rahman, already well known as the force behind Sasa’s Indian Kitchen and Bar in Crudwell, Wiltshire, is bringing his debut pan-Asian concept to the town’s historic high street. The new restaurant will open in a characterful building dating back to 1881, once home to The Red Lion.
Foyez said: “Since we announced our plans and started looking for local staff, Lechlade has been extremely supportive, and welcoming to myself and my family.

“It is the food I have come to love, in the UK and on my travels and I think Lechlade, the surrounding area, the Cotswolds will really like it. We have influence from Korea, Japan and Malay dishes that we hope you will enjoy as much as we do. Bao, gyoza, fresh, fragrant noodle dishes that use the best ingredients, fish, shell fish, meat and vegetables, sourced locally, when possible. We are extremely excited.”
A gala evening for local businesses and the public will be held on 3 December, ahead of the official opening on 4 December, marking the launch of this bold new dining venture.
You can follow the restaurant’s progress on Instagram and on Facebook. The website is currently being completed.
