Nestled in the Wiltshire countryside just outside Devizes, Roots Farm Shop has become a much-loved destination for local food, seasonal produce and homemade treats. Housed at Old Potato Yard, on the site that was once Planks Farm Shop, new management took over in May 2025 and has continued to build on the excellent reputation the farm shop held.
Hannah is passionate about encouraging people to cook for themselves, using ingredients that are delicious, local and seasonal and is filling the farm shop with the best fresh fruit and vegetables, locally sourced meat, artisan preserves and fresh bakery goodies. She even offers recipe ideas on the shop’s social media pages to help customers try something new – keen to make cooking exciting.
There is also an onsite butchery and a deli counter of homemade pies including the likes of steak and kidney, steak and Guinness, pork, apple and cider and chicken and mushroom if one fancies a quick tea without the work!
There are sweet treats too with cakes and traybakes all made on site and ready for you to enjoy with a coffee or take away for a mid-morning pick me up. There are honey and eggs, chutneys and store cupboard essentials and a lovely range of locally made gifts including aprons, candles and mugs. And, if it’s Easter eggs you are looking for, you could do a lot worse than Roots Farm Shop with its attractive display of chocolate goodies that any bunny would be proud to scatter around the garden!
