Bays Brewery and Paignton Zoo bring back popular charity ale ‘Tall Order’

Torbay-based Bays Brewery is teaming up once again with Paignton Zoo to launch the latest addition to its 2026 Charity Brew range – the return of the much-loved animal ale, Tall Order.

Available in bottles, cask and beer boxes from July, the golden ale (4.7% ABV) stands head and shoulders above the rest, crafted with UK hops and delivering bright citrus notes and a hoppy finish.

Inspired by one of the zoo’s most iconic residents – the giraffe – Tall Order will once again help support wildlife protection, with 5% of every pint and bottle sold donated to conservation. The refreshing beer launching this Summer will be available through selected pubs across Devon, the Bays Brewery online shop, and Paignton Zoo’s shop and restaurant. The launch comes as Bays Brewery celebrates raising more than £30,000 for endangered species through its long-standing partnership with the zoo, which began in 2013.

Tall Order is the latest in a successful line-up of charity brews created in collaboration with Paignton Zoo, following popular releases including Funky Monkey, Orangutan Ale, and, most recently, Claw. The brewery is also delighted to be continuing its partnership with Paignton Zoo following the attraction’s recent acquisition by Dutch leisure group Libéma, and ongoing investment programme.

Peter Salmon, Director of Bays Brewery, said: “Our partnership with Paignton Zoo began way back in 2013 and it has always been about more than just brewing great beer together – it’s about helping protect some of the world’s most incredible wildlife. We’re delighted to be bringing back Tall Order, one of our most popular animal ales. Not only is it a fantastic golden beer packed with bright citrus character, but every pint sold helps support vital conservation work. Reaching £30,000 in fundraising is an achievement we’re incredibly proud of, and we’re thrilled to be continuing our partnership with the zoo as it enters an exciting new chapter. We look forward to helping raise even more for conservation in the years ahead.”

Steph Dawson, Sales Manager at Paignton Zoo, added: “Our partnership with Bays Brewery continues to evolve in wonderful ways. Together we’ve raised significant funds for conservation projects while also engaging thousands of people with the important work taking place here at the zoo. We’re thrilled to see the return of Tall Order and grateful to everyone who chooses to support wildlife conservation simply by enjoying a great local beer. Long-standing partnerships like this play an important role in helping us continue our conservation mission.”

Tall Order forms part of Bays Brewery’s 2026 Charity Brew programme, with each limited-edition release supporting a different cause close to the brewery’s heart.

Completing the charity line-up in November will be the return of the brewery’s popular Jingle Ale, a ho-ho hoppy bitter supporting Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).
