Firebrand Brewing Co expands Cornish retail presence with listing in 86 stores

Independent Launceston-based brewery Firebrand Brewing Co has secured a significant retail milestone, with two of its beers launching into 86 Co-op stores across Cornwall.

Joe Thomson – Founder and Head brewer at Firebrand Brewing Co

The new listing sees the brewery’s award-winning Shorebreak Alcohol-Free Hazy Pale and Diamondback West Coast IPA become available to thousands more shoppers across the county, marking another step in Firebrand’s continued commercial growth.

Based in Launceston, Firebrand has spent over a decade building its reputation for producing innovative, quality beers inspired by its home county. The Co-op listing demonstrates the increasing appetite for locally produced food and drink, while providing a platform for a Cornish brewer to expand its reach through one of the region’s largest convenience retail networks.

Phil Rendell, Marketing Manager at Firebrand Brewing Co, said: “As a proudly independent Cornish brewery, we’re delighted to secure this listing with Co-op and seize a fantastic opportunity to expand our footprint in our home county with two beers we’re super proud of.”

“This listing reflects the breadth of today’s beer market. Consumers are looking for quality and flavour whether they’re choosing alcohol-free or full strength, and we’re delighted that Co-op shoppers across Cornwall can now pick up both Shorebreak and Diamondback as part of their regular shop.”

Shorebreak has become one of the brewery’s biggest success stories since its launch. Brewed with Simcoe, Cascade and Citra hops, the gluten-free, vegan, hazy pale delivers full flavour at just 0.5% ABV and 32 calories per can, and was recently recognised internationally, winning Best Alcohol-Free Pale Ale at the 2025 World Beer Awards.

Diamondback West Coast IPA began life as a limited-edition small-batch brew before customer demand saw it become a permanent addition to the range. Brewed with Centennial, Citra and Simcoe hops, the 6% ABV IPA delivers bright citrus, pine and tropical fruit flavours alongside crisp bitterness.

Founded in Cornwall in 2012, Firebrand Brewing Co has built a reputation for brewing award-winning, quality beers which deliver flavour and accessibility across the range. The Co-op listing further strengthens Firebrand’s presence across the SW off-trade, creating new opportunities for consumers to buy locally brewed beer across Cornwall.
