Daish’s Holidays appoints new General Manager at Somerset Hotel

Daish’s Holidays, an independent family-owned UK coach holiday group, has appointed Michael Davies as General Manager of its Somerset Hotel in Llandudno.

Michael brings 10 years’ hospitality experience to the role as well as strong ties to the local area, currently serving as an ambassador for Conwy County and Snowdonia National Park. As the General Manager of the 86-bed Somerset Hotel, Michael oversees 40 employees and is responsible for supporting the team to deliver excellent service, maintain high standards, and ensure guests feel welcomed and well looked after throughout their stay.

Prior to joining Daish’s Holidays, Michael worked for Zip World to oversee eight forest lodges. While the role gave him broad operational experience, he wanted the opportunity to take full responsibility for one property and build a stronger connection with both its employees and guests.

Michael says: “I was attracted to Daish’s Holidays because of its focus on people and employee wellbeing. I also liked the opportunity to take full responsibility for one property, allowing me to spend more time with the team and our guests. I want to be visible and approachable, whether that’s working in communal areas or chatting with our visitors. A guest once told me that getting older can make you feel invisible, but when they holiday with Daish’s they don’t feel that way anymore. I really like that idea, making sure our customers feel seen and valued.”

George Brown, Managing Director at Daish’s Holidays, says: “We’re delighted to welcome Michael to Daish’s Holidays. He has already made a positive impression amongst employees and holidaymakers, and his hands-on approach and commitment to creating a welcoming environment are clear to see. Michael brings valuable hospitality and operational experience to the Somerset Hotel, as well as a genuine passion for making sure a great experience is had by all.”

The appointment forms part of Daish’s Holidays’ ongoing investment in its hotels, people and guest experience, with Michael bringing a combination of hospitality management expertise and a strong commitment to both his team and guests to the Somerset Hotel.
