Dorset’s tourism stars celebrate at Marsham Court

Storm Austen did not deter Dorset tourism businesses from their celebrations on 22 October, as 67 awards were presented at the 14th Dorset Tourism Awards Ceremony, at Marsham Court Hotel in Bournemouth.

Dorset Tourism Awards 26-27 winners

Supported by headline sponsor Tomorrows Travel and hosted by BBC Radio Solent’s Steve Harris, the evening brought together businesses and individuals from across the county to celebrate their achievements.

Guests heard from Jane Hill, BBC and Gareth Sherwood, Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Dorset and Chief Executive of YMCA Bournemouth, before Gold, Silver and Bronze winners were revealed. Special awards included Outstanding Contribution to Dorset tourism, presented to David Bailey, Chair of the Dorset Local Visitor Economy Partnership and Winner of Winners was awarded to Birds of Poole Harbour.

Awards Director Nell Barrington and guests

Jay Thornton, Commercial & Engineering Director at Tomorrows Travel, said, “Huge congratulations to all of this year’s Dorset Tourism Awards winners and finalists. As headline sponsor, we’re incredibly proud to celebrate the businesses and individuals whose passion, innovation and dedication make Dorset such an outstanding destination. Tourism is at the heart of everything we do at Tomorrows Travel Group, and it’s a privilege to recognise the people who continue to drive Dorset forward.”

Nell Barrington, Awards Director, said, “With a win for AFC Bournemouth and so many brilliant tourism businesses to celebrate, it was a great night for Dorset. Thank you to everyone who braved the weather to join us, and to all our sponsors, judges and supporters who make these awards possible. My huge congratulations to all the winners.”

The Dorset Tourism Awards are run in partnership with the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence, with eligible winners being nominated to represent Dorset in the national awards in 2027.
