A five-star Cornish hotel has launched bookings for its festive afternoon tea by the sea this Christmas.
The Headland in Newquay, will be offering delicate delights from December 1st to 30th due to popular demand seen in 2021. The traditional tea will provide festive sandwiches, homemade scones with lashings of Cornish clotted cream and jam and Christmas fancies and cakes to celebrate the season.
Cakes include mulled wine trifle, cranberry macaroon, chocolate orange yule log, homemade Christmas cake and of course, a mince pie.

The Festive Afternoon Tea will be served across the hotel’s multi award-winning restaurant, The Samphire, with dramatic views over the Atlantic Ocean as well as in the Ballroom this year. “We are enjoying putting our fun festive twist on the classic afternoon tea and invite guests to take home a little slice of Headland Christmas spirit,” said The Headland’s Director Veryan Palmer.
Guests can also take home a decoration from The Headland’s wonderfully huge Christmas tree as a reminder of their festive tea by the sea. The ballroom setting offers a warm welcome to visitors who can take refuge from the crashing waves by the fire and can add a little more sparkle to the occasion with a glass of champagne or an afternoon tea cocktail.
Festive Afternoon Tea’s are priced at £40 per adult on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and £35 Monday to Thursday with a separate price for children’s teas. Booking is essential.
