Georgian Wine Festival comes to Dartington Estate

A Georgian Wine Festival comes to Dartington Estate in Devon this October, for a joyous celebration of Georgian wine and culture, curated by Masters of Wine Sarah Abbott and Justin Howard-Sneyd.

The Georgian National Wine Agency and Dartington Trust are proud to announce their first Georgian Wine Festival to be held at the historic Devon estate, set to take place from 13th to 15th October. This weekend event promises to captivate wine enthusiasts, culture aficionados, and curious explorers alike, offering a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in the rich traditions of Georgian wine and winemaking.

The Georgian Wine Festival, held in the picturesque setting of Dartington Estate, brings together the vibrant flavours, captivating melodies, and age-old winemaking techniques of Georgia, a country renowned for being the cradle of wine. This year’s festival is supported by many of Georgia’s finest wine estates and leading Georgian restaurants and cultural organisations within the UK.

Attendees at the Georgian Wine Festival will have the chance to embark on a sensory journey through the heart of Georgia’s winemaking traditions. From traditional qvevri wine tastings to masterclasses led by Georgian winemakers, guests will have the opportunity to explore a variety of indigenous grape varietals and experience the unique winemaking techniques that have been passed down through generations.

In addition to the captivating wine experiences, the festival will feature a range of cultural activities that showcase the essence of Georgian heritage. Visitors can experience the “Supra”, a communal feast of traditional Georgian cuisine, while enjoying live performances of Georgian music and dance.

The festival provides a wonderful opportunity for people to discover and appreciate the distinct flavours and cultural richness of Georgian wines.

Dartington Trust has been a pioneering force in promoting cultural exchanges and fostering cross-cultural connections. The Georgian Wine Festival exemplifies the organisation’s commitment to showcasing diverse traditions and fostering appreciation for global cultures.

The Georgian Wine Festival at Dartington Trust is set to be an unforgettable experience for all attendees. Whether you are a wine connoisseur, a lover of cultural exploration, or simply seeking a delightful day out, mark your calendars for 13th-15th October and join us for an enchanting celebration of Georgian wine and heritage.
