BANK Bristol set to mark 2nd birthday with Bottle Shop launch

BANK will celebrate its 2nd birthday with the launch of a new Bottle Shop, which will see the neighbourhood restaurant’s list of small-scale producer wines going on sale online as well as onsite in Totterdown. To thank its customers and introduce them to the new retail space, BANK will be holding a free tasting event on Saturday 23rd September between 3.00pm-5.00pm.

Founder, Dan O’Regan will be joined by some of BANK’s sustainably-minded wine importers, including Bristol’s own Spiegel & Peach and Déjà Bu Wines. Showcasing a small flight of wines from lesser known regions, all selected to be accessible in style and price, these experts will discuss themes including terroir, varietals and minimum intervention winemaking.

Alongside the wine tasting, head chef and co-owner, Jack Briggs-Horan will offer a selection of snacks cooked over fire. As each pairing is presented, Jack and Dan will share their thoughts on BANK’s ethos and contemporary wood fired cooking style, which has recently seen the site named in The Good Food Guide’s list of Britain’s 100 Best Local Restaurants 2023.

Dan O’Regan, founder of BANK, commented: “We’ve been lucky enough to enjoy some great support from the community in our first two years at BANK, so we’re looking forward to taking a moment to reflect, raise a glass and look forward. Just as our menu invites people to broaden their expectations of what fire cooking can mean, we’re also pleased to be part of a movement encouraging them to take a fresh look at wine; where it comes from, how it’s produced and what it’s doing to the planet. Our new Bottle Shop is the natural next step in this journey, and we’re excited to get it out there.”

From September onwards, everyone who dines at BANK will be entitled to 5% off in the Bottle Shop, applicable to any take-home purchases on the day.

The BANK Bottle Shop launch event is free to attend and will take place on Saturday 23rd September, from 3.00pm-5.00pm.

Serving lunch, dinner, drinks, coffee and wood fired roasts on Sundays, BANK has quickly developed a reputation in Bristol and beyond as a neighbourhood restaurant that’s worth travelling for. In July 2023, BANK was named in The Good Food Guide’s list of Britain’s 100 Best Local Restaurants. BANK in Bristol is open from Wednesday to Saturday 12.00pm – 10.00pm, and on Sunday 12.00pm – 5.00pm. Diners can book via www.bankbristol.com.
