Lounge café/bars across the UK are celebrating the completion of yet another successful LoungeAid month, raising much-needed funds for local charities. A highlight in Loungers’ community calendar, the fundraising initiative involves Lounges across the UK and has, this year, raised a whopping £158,839 collectively.
Lounges have always connected and supported their local communities by encouraging teams to do it their way – from using their spaces to bring people and community groups together for events to giving away products in random acts of kindness and raising money for causes which matter to teams.
In the South West, the Lounges raised a total of £17,601.27! They had a huge range of events from hikes between St Ives and Falmouth and local business markets in their venues, to 12-hour cycle-a-thons and paddleboarding.

The standout Lounges were:
- Grupo Lounge, Westbury-on-Trym: Raised £1,401 for Suicide Prevention UK. The team completed the Welsh Three Peaks Challenge together in under 24 hours, climbing Snowdon, Cader Idris, and Pen Y Fan, as well as hosting successful bake sales, charity quizzes, and a charity pop-up shop!
- Concho Lounge, Newquay: Raised £704 for Cornwall Air Ambulance supporting their #Heli2 campaign to raise money for a second life-saving helicopter. The team hosted bake sales, a team 5K run around Newquay, and the Assistant Manager Kyra even completed a skydive!
Other examples of fundraising activity across the Loungers’ estate included hosting a Build a Burger Day, car wash, a General Manager climbing Snowdon and making a cocktail at the summit, children’s fun days, gunge the boss, sponsored bike rides, family fetes, sponsored walks and bungee jumps, flash mobs, and charity football matches.
Gemma Irwin, Head of Community at The Lounges, says: “This year’s LoungeAid has been the best ever! We’re absolutely delighted to have raised such an amazing amount of money to support charities and causes in the communities we serve. We encourage our Lounges to raise money and support good causes all year round. We choose to support local, rather than national, charities because we want to help tackle the issues which are important to the neighbourhoods where we trade.”
LoungeAid, established in 2015, is Loungers’ largest charity event uniting all teams across the UK in a month-long fundraising initiative to make a real impact. Over £438,352 has been raised to date.
