Butcombe Original ranked as No1 beer in South West by CGA

It’s official… Butcombe Original is the South West’s favourite beer. According to CGA’s most recent data, Butcombe Brewing Co’s iconic ale is at number one in the South West in terms of volume and value, outranking giants of the industry such as Doom Bar and Tribute for the very first time. *

Butcombe Original has been steadily creeping up the charts for the past couple of years but now it is officially the most popular beer bought in pubs, bars and restaurants in the region.

Jayson Perfect, COO, Liberation Group says: “We are delighted to see Butcombe Original ranking as the South West’s favourite beer. Original has been popular since the 1970s and has a very loyal following but now we have the addition of a new, younger audience of craft beer enthusiasts looking for the genuine article from a forward thinking, modern and trusted brand.”

The report publisher, CGA, works with food and drink suppliers, hospitality operators, trade bodies and financial institutions, providing market measurement and unique expertise across all parts of the on-premise route to market.

Jayson Perfect continues: “Our brewing team, mixing traditional and tried and tested techniques, works tirelessly to produce a high-quality range of cask ales. Our customers love Original’s clean, modern, and refreshing taste so it’s no surprise to us that Butcombe Original is now the number one choice across the South West.”
