The Old Inn & Restaurant : big wins and a bright future

The Old Inn & Restaurant, a beloved establishment nestled in the heart of Cornwall, is celebrating a series of remarkable achievements and looking ahead to an exciting future. Under the ownership of Darren Wills, who has dedicated 25 years to nurturing and growing this iconic pub, The Old Inn is proud to share some incredible milestones while continuing to invest in its future.

One of the key achievements is being awarded the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Award, a prestigious award that places the venue in the top 10% of highest-rated restaurants globally. This recognition is a testament to the team’s dedication to providing an outstanding experience to both locals and visitors, with many reviews highlighting the exceptional quality of the food and the welcoming atmosphere.

Adding to the celebration, The Old Inn has also been named finalists in the Cornwall Tourism Awards, further solidifying its position as a top destination in the region. The nomination reflects the pub’s commitment to sustainability, with a strong focus on using locally sourced Cornish produce to create its menus. Supporting local farmers and suppliers is at the heart of The Old Inn’s ethos, and this commitment has earned them recognition within the tourism industry.

After recently announcing his decision to remain at the helm of The Old Inn after 25 years of ownership, Darren Wills is more dedicated than ever to the future of this historic establishment. Darren’s leadership and dedication have played a crucial role in shaping the pub’s success and its reputation for exceptional service and quality.

Looking to the future, exciting plans are already underway. The Old Inn has been focusing on improving its facilities, with the recent refurbishment of its beer pumps and upcoming renovations to the toilets, ensuring an even better experience for guests. The introduction of live music performances at the end of each month will brighten the colder months, while a new Supper Club Winter Menu is being carefully crafted to offer seasonal favourites, making The Old Inn a cosy destination for delicious meals with friends and family.

As the festive season approaches, The Old Inn is preparing to launch a special Christmas menu and host a Christmas Fair, offering the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit. Bookings of the Christmas menu are now open, allowing guests to secure their spot for a festive feast during the winter period. The pub will also continue to host its ever-popular charity quiz nights, which support local causes and bring the community together for a night of fun and fundraising.

With a combination of recent accolades and future plans, The Old Inn & Restaurant remains a cherished part of Cornwall’s hospitality scene, dedicated to delivering fresh, locally-sourced ingredients and providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all who visit.
