
Nicholas Balfe, Owner & Chef Director of HOLM in Somerset, is pleased to announce his participation in this year’s Great British Menu 2025, the highly regarded culinary competition celebrating both the UK’s finest chefs and the best of the country’s diverse cuisine. The new series of Great British Menu began on Tuesday 28th January on BBC Two and iPlayer and is particularly special this year, as it celebrates its 20th anniversary.
Known for his passion for hyper seasonal cooking, Nicholas will be competing amongst some of the country’s most talented chefs this year, showcasing the array of British ingredients on our shores. Nicholas has built a reputation for creating exceptional dishes that blend British tradition and nostalgia, with modern flair. With years of experience and a commitment to sourcing the finest local ingredients, he is excited to represent the South West and HOLM, bringing his culinary passions to a national audience.
During the series, Nicholas will be using ingredients to tell the amazing stories of some of the biggest names in the South West including English fossil hunter Mary Anning and the Mother of Glastonbury Festival, Jean Eavis.
